The Wail

RongaShoot 158

Like a flower at a river bank,
Love blossoms.
The attractive petals and scent,
Insects are lured

Boundaries are crossed,
Wild we get!
Blind it turns us,
And like a sculptor,
A junk of wood becomes a fine piece of art.

RongaShoot 153

But why the wallet?
Must we eat at KFC for you to stamp my quest?
I- just but a scholar desperate for a degree,
Parent_Mpesa nourishment, is all I trust,
And when allocation is done, left is nothing for the dates!

RongaShoot 041

Beb, don’t look at what I am,
Look at what we can be,
Don’t settle for common, stand for the unique,
There is a Continent to explore,
Move out of that dark corner,

Dear love, everything beautiful you see,
Time it took to build,
Instant is no miracle, a lie to destroy you it is,
Them moneybags after you, don’t give them your ear,
Like a hen cares for its chicks, for you I will care,

Passion is you, Home we should go soon,
That ring down your finger,
As the crowd witnesses,
Till death do us part, home we will happily dance,

Just before that, don’t walk away,

Away just because I Can’t afford a moneybag life,
This is my cry, a wail of a man in love,
A man who fears to be played,
A man ready to sacrifice, sacrifice the little he has for you,

I love you.
I care about you.
Just hang on.
All shall be well.

But why The Coffee Dates?

The Lovers

You Can’t hide love, Social strata is no ligature,
The battle began, thank you Mack Zuckerburg,
The conversation grew, the feelings crossed the bridge,
And the coffee date happened!

Tall she was and she is, Brown she was and she is,
What a smile! Oh My! I love the dental gap,
In that middle man coffee house, I received my wife to be,
A hug I desired, for sure she did give it to me,
And the coffee date was here!

“Miss, you may have a seat” I pulled the chair for her,
Mmmh! Here we are, strangers- sharing a cup of coffee,
Ma’am (I love this name)- This is the cyber Roy- Your social media darling,
An enticing smile she gave, ” Huh! You are tall, This Bianca”
And the coffee date progressed!

Two hours plus we spent, we dissected all we could,
The Jungle was toured, we had some understanding,
Every man-” We”- was prepared for the next walk,
She said, ” We need time-time to know each other well”
On the other side, a man on a dilemma- she loves, she loves me not,
But again we need one one more coffee date!

Ways we parted, via phone we shall talk,
Evening came, the chat began,
“Roy, you are a nice guy”
“Bianca, I just love everything about you”
A man must fight, and my best I did,
For my heart needs the missing link,
One more coffee date!

A health chat we shared, steps ahead we moved,
The single me was fading, stamping she had to do!
In solitude for ages, pruning I had to do,
When love knocks, He does all he can to get her,
To mum, I lied, coins for the coffee date I got,
It happened- one more coffee date.

This time- familiar faces- walking together, holding hands,
People stared, assured, assured not-This lady is mine,                                                                                                      More open, more comfortable, more issues,
The vast relationship issue, we traversed,
Again more time she needed- a demoralized man I was,
But why the coffee dates?

The session ended, mad I was running,
Home I walk single, assured am not,
Poems I did, convinced she was not,
But What did she need?
Away from the dates, hikes we went, parks we visited and games we played,
But why the coffee dates?

All we can be is friends- she tells me,
Friendship she values,
She doesn’t want to hurt me,
She wants us to be bonded forever- not in love but in friendship,
Should I give up? Should I soldier on?
I need love not friendship.
But Why The Coffee Dates?

For You Forever Meant Never!

Nyash Taller

Am one hurt man, a man betrayed by a lady,
In the same wavelength, I believed we were one,
Love,Commitment and sacrifice is what I pledged,
‘Forever you are my one n only’ Your promise it was,
What is the meaning of forever?

Did you really love me?
What is it that you saw in me and I no longer have it?
Was it love? Was it material things?
Where are you? I need the answers,
Now I suppose,Forever meant Never.

The feelings I had for you,
The sacrifices I made just to make you happy,
No single day you suffered under my arms,
I covered you during the rain,
I gave you warmth during the cold,
And the best you could do is betray me,
Betray me with your ex.

I gave you love, you gave me a smile,
A smile to lure me,use me and walk away,
You no longer in my life, the memories are intact,
The separation was painful, the insults broke my trust,
I learnt alot, You were a mistake,
For you forever meant Never.

Arim Mitchelle

You played it cool with me, you build confidence in me,
Your smile blindfolded me,
My trust n fidelity has brought me down,
Am now crippled, crippled by your lies,
My family n friends are the only warmth,
For you forever meant Never.

I wanted nothing more than you,
Nothing more than your love,
Nothing more than your trust,
Nothing more than to commit to you,
I have to accept n say BYE.

Am crushed like eggs,
My soul pains just because of you,
A viper you are,the venom is in my blood,
For you forever meant never

Bye Bye… I wish you well… I wish you good.

Those days… the good old days,

Am told it was a taboo, an abomination,

drinking was a reserve for wazees,

Walking to a bar or a drinking den, age was a paramount.

The bottle was meant to pass good time,

Kill boredom after work,

Some used the bottle to seal business deals,

But today, it’s all about who is a guzzler and finding solace.

Christmas… holidays left my mouth agape,

The KIDS…  I mean those who I saw grow,

Not even past post primary education,

Drinking is part of them and it’s a norm.

But what happened?

Sex and alcohol is engulfing us,

I have not heard any constructive debate,

All they care about is sex, alcohol and money.

Talk of parents, they careless,

They carry them along to the pubs,

They send them to get them more bottles,

Who is to blame?

The drinking generation we are making,

The bottle generation is the talk of the village,

Long before we realize,

We shall all be crying….. Sirkal Saidia

The law says, it is for over 18 years,

But the generation says…. It’s for all,

The agenda is partying…

Our girls and boys are rock stars…

I drink…. I kill the hangovers with a tot,

I shower… watch movies waiting for my next bottle,

And that is the chain… that is the custom,

The bottle generation.

What I Meant (Bye Bye My Lover)

I meant no harm, even my conscience couldn’t allow,
I saw a weak and a susceptible heart,
I wanted to safeguard it… yes- from Vultures,
But you lied to me.

What went wrong, I keep wondering.
Was the fault mine?
Was the fault yours?
But you lied to me.

That evening we met at a friend’s place.
We had a chit chat,
We shared laughter and exchanged numbers,
But you lied to me.
We spent together,
Our friends salivated,
In a blink of an eye, We were no more,
But you lied to me.

Whatever went wrong… am not sure,
Is it our friends who corrupted us?
Is it money that broke our trust?
Am still worried!
But you lied to me.

Now… When I see you,
I see a demon in you,
Just because you broke my heart,
In you I see a traitor,a spy and worst of all a whore,
But you lied to me.

My heart wants you still,
But am fighting hard to avoid you,
My mind has accepted you are no more,
But my heart is conflicting,
But you lied to me.

Inspired by a true love story

I remember the first day,
The day I first saw you,
In that religious gathering,
I suppose you are a woman of God,
This I know am not wrong,
Your name- says it all.
To me, you are a special gift,
Full of intelligence and wise reasoning,
Always giving and helping through good and bad times,
We have disagreed on some occasions,
But we have always resolved the hiccups.

You always lend me an ear,
I hope I too lend you mine,
You listen, laugh and care,
You uplift me and make me smile,
My dear, I wanna make you smile everyday.

As Carolyne A. Davis says….
You are the one I most admire, with great intentions and loving desires,
Passion and trust and knowing that your care brings a lifetime of happiness for us to share…
So I say to the one I care for.

Am yearning for one special day…
To surprise you… not the usual surprises…
As you read this, am waiting in the cold…
With open arms, so that when this day comes…
You will run and plunge unto them.

A significant period has passed…
Is the distance we have covered enough?
What are we to become?
Is something in the making?
Is “Best Friends” enough?

We started as strangers…
We are good friends…
Quench my thirst…
And let it be a YES when the day comes.

 You are special to me!!!

‘Dedication to a special lady in my life.’

I Want To Love…..!!!

I want to meet Him/Her,
The One Who said Love is Blind,
I want know how it saw others

Dear Love, I want to Love…

Who is blind? Me or Her?
Who is heartless? Me or Her?
Am I inferior? Somebody Talk to Me.

Dear Love, I want to Love…

I don’t wanna watch others Love!
I wanna hold, cuddle and kiss my own!
The one who will text me; Good Morning!

Dear Love, I want to Love…

I want to say good nigth to someone special!
I want someone to go out with on Friday!
I want someone to pay me a visit on a weekend!

Dear Love, I want to Love…

Am not poor, Am not perfect,
Am not Mr. Rigth, Everyday I try,
Yes, am that man you can count on,

Dear Love, I want to Love…

When I meet you, don’t ignore my advances,
I have a story, a song for you, let us sing together,
A tedious Journey awaits, it needs two strong hearts,
Me and you, A big Dream is to become true,

Dear Love, I want to Love…

Differences will arise,
We will differ to agree,
In Love and Endurance, We will raise a family,
A strong family to inspire the next generation

Dear Love, I want to Love…
